jpx400 Heatmap — RS Rating × Minervini Trend Score

“I want to be buying “in the pocket” and managing my risk very tightly against the moving averages.”
(Oliver Kell)

KOLの視点KOL Take

The entry that looks most exciting is usually the one where I can say least about what wrong would look like. Back near the average the stock is duller, and my risk is finally something I can point at.

Core Principle

The two halves of that sentence are one decision, and the phrase is defined by the clause that follows it: close enough to a reference the stock has been travelling with that risk can actually be named. The further price runs from that reference, the better the chart looks and the less you can say about where wrong begins. Attractiveness and definability move in opposite directions, which is why extended entries feel like conviction and behave like guesswork. The second thing worth noticing is that the reference moves. A rising average carries the risk point up with it, so the definition of wrong keeps updating on its own instead of being renegotiated while you hold.

Trading Application

Before entering, measure how far price sits from the average you trade against, and treat a wide gap as a reason to wait rather than to hurry. Waiting is not free, since some stocks never return. But the alternative is a position whose failure point you cannot state, and an average is a reference for defining risk rather than a floor holding price up. The takeaway: prefer the entry where you can be most precise about being wrong.
