“I never argue with the market. As soon as the market gives me feedback that my idea is wrong and I’m losing money, I cut the trade immediately, no questions asked.”
(Brian Shannon)
KOLの視点KOL Take
An argument needs two parties who can both be talked round, and the market is not one of them. Whatever I am doing while a position runs against my plan, it is a conversation with myself, and it charges by the session.
Core Principle
Look at the word argue. An argument assumes a counterparty who might be persuaded, and there is not one. The debate is internal, held with an imagined opponent while the account keeps score. The phrase that matters is no questions asked. The questions are the problem, not the answers. Is this a shakeout, is the market being irrational, should I give it one more session: each is a request for delay dressed as analysis, and delay is where the cost collects. One condition makes the rest workable. Feedback that your idea is wrong presupposes you said in advance what wrong would look like; without that, every decline stays ambiguous and immediately has nothing to attach itself to.
Trading Application
Write the invalidation down at entry, specific enough to recognise without deliberating, then treat its arrival as an instruction rather than a topic. This is not selling on every red day. It is refusing to reopen a question you already answered while you were calm. If you catch yourself building a case for a position, the arguing has begun — notice who it is with. The takeaway: the market has already answered, and only the delay is still yours to decide.
