“Everything is lagging, including AVWAP; there is nothing that can predict the future accurately.”
(Brian Shannon)
KOLの視点KOL Take
What gives this weight is that Shannon aims it at his own best-known tool. Nothing on my chart
predicts anything — every line is a tidy summary of what has already happened, and I trade better
once I stop asking it for more than that.
Core Principle
アンカードVWAP(AVWAP)も例外ではない。
Every tool on a chart is built from price, and price is a record of transactions that have already
cleared. Anchored VWAP is no exception: it is an average of what has been paid since a chosen date,
which makes it a description rather than a forecast. What makes the line worth keeping is that
Shannon points it at his own best-known work instead of at someone else’s indicator. The mistake is
not using lagging tools — there is nothing else on offer. The mistake is asking a description of the
past to behave like a promise about the future.
Trading Application
Use them for what they can actually do: organize where price sits relative to a reference, show what
participants have been willing to pay, and give you a defined place to be wrong. Judge a tool by
whether it makes your risk clearer, not by whether it called the move. The takeaway: nothing on your
screen predicts, so stop grading your tools on foresight and start grading them on how well they
frame the decision in front of you.
