jpx400 Heatmap — RS Rating × Minervini Trend Score

“The rigid method sooner or later will break the operator who blindly follows it.”
(Richard Wyckoff)

KOLの視点KOL Take

A rule cannot tell when it has stopped applying. It just keeps firing at the same rate. That judgment was always the operator’s job, and following blindly is the decision to stop doing it.

Core Principle

Read what Wyckoff is indicting: not the method, but rigid and blindly. Every method is fitted to conditions, a kind of trend, a level of liquidity, a range of volatility, and works only while they hold. Markets leave them periodically. A rule has no faculty for noticing this. It cannot detect that its assumptions have lapsed, so it keeps firing into an environment it was never built for. The only part that can see the mismatch is the operator, and blind following switches it off. That is how a sound method breaks its owner: not by being wrong, but by being right about a market that is no longer there.

Trading Application

This is not permission to override a rule mid-trade because you dislike what it says. That is the opposite failure, and more common. What matters is when the question gets asked. An exception argued during an open position is motivated reasoning; a scheduled review of whether the method still fits is maintenance. Do it away from the book: write down what your method assumes, and what you would observe if those assumptions had lapsed. The takeaway: follow your rules inside the trade, and audit them outside it.
