“I am extremely relaxed in a good environment but more tense when trying to force trades in a bad environment. Recognizing this emotion is huge.”
(Oliver Kell)
KOLの視点KOL Take
My own tension turned out to be one of the more honest readings I have of the market — I tend to feel a bad environment well before I can prove one.
Core Principle
There is a useful inversion here. Tension is usually treated as a private problem to push through, something to manage so it stops interfering with the analysis. Kell treats it as information about the environment itself, and the logic holds. When candidates are plentiful and behaving, there is nothing to force, so the work feels easy. When you catch yourself straining to make something qualify, the strain is a fairly reliable report that the supply of good trades has thinned out. The feeling arrives before the statistics do. And the second sentence carries the real weight: recognizing it. An unnoticed state quietly makes the decision for you. A noticed one becomes another variable you can weigh against everything else on the screen.
Trading Application
Log how each entry felt at the moment you took it — relaxed, neutral, or forced — in the same place you log the entry itself. Thirty trades later you will have your own evidence about what forcing costs you. The takeaway: when you notice yourself reaching, treat the reaching as information about the market, not only about you.
