sp500 Heatmap — RS Rating × Minervini Trend Score

“If I had my choice of the one most desirable thing to know about the stock market, I would choose to know when rather than why or which.”
(Richard Wyckoff)

KOLの視点KOL Take

Reasons are the cheapest thing on offer in this market and I can have as many as I want by lunchtime. Timing is the one of the three that is genuinely scarce, which is exactly why I would keep it over the other two.

Core Principle

Notice this is a ranking, not a dismissal. Wyckoff does not say reasons are worthless or that selection does not matter; he says that if only one of the three could be had, timing is the one worth having. The ranking is about scarcity. Explanations are the most abundant thing in this business — the market produces a fresh set every morning, and a convincing one can be assembled after any move in either direction. Selection is harder. Timing is the genuinely scarce item, and it is also the only one of the three that touches the account directly. Why and which are inputs. When is the moment a position actually meets the market, and a flawless answer to the first two still gets settled there.

Trading Application

Audit where your hours actually went this week: reading about companies, ranking candidates, or specifying what would have to happen before you act. Most of us are weighted heavily toward the first, which is the most available and the least scarce. Write the when down as a condition, with the same care you give the why. The takeaway: an explanation you cannot attach to a moment is reading, not trading.
