jpx400 Heatmap — RS Rating × Minervini Trend Score

“The public will usually take three points profit and stand for a ten-point loss. Livermore takes a three-point loss and plays for a ten-point profit.”
(Richard Wyckoff)

KOLの視点KOL Take

Both halves of Wyckoff’s sentence use the same two numbers, three and ten. The entire difference is

which one you attach to the loss — and that is the only half you will ever be able to enforce.

Core Principle

Wyckoff is describing Livermore’s method, and he builds the sentence so that both halves run on the

same two magnitudes. Nobody in it has better information; what differs is which number sits on the

losing side. That locates the edge in arrangement rather than in forecasting. The other half of the

point is that the two numbers are not equally available to you. The three is a price you can name

and enforce before the trade exists. The ten is a prospect the market may or may not deliver.

Trading Application

So the reward side is a reason to take the trade, and the risk side is the only part you actually

administer. Set the loss as a price rather than a feeling, and grade yourself on whether you honored

it, not on whether the ten arrived. The moment you begin negotiating with the three — widening it,

granting it room, giving it one more day — you have quietly rebuilt the public’s arrangement out of

Wyckoff’s. The takeaway: you cannot make the market pay the ten, so guard the three as though it

were the whole method.
