“Most investors look for bargains instead of looking for leaders, and more often than not they get what they pay for.”
(Mark Minervini)
KOLの視点KOL Take
When I catch myself calling a stock cheap, I have usually stopped analysing and started
rationalising. The discount is the market’s verdict, not my discovery.
Core Principle
A low price is not something you discovered. It is a running verdict, set by everyone who already
looked at the same company and declined to pay more. Leaders carry premiums because demand for them
outstrips supply — that is what leadership looks like in price. Bargain hunting inverts the filter:
it sorts for the names institutions are stepping away from, then asks you to wait for a change of
heart you have no way to schedule.
Trading Application
Rank candidates against the market, not against their own history. A stock 60% off its high is not
better value than one making new highs — it is just further from where it used to be. The takeaway:
measure a candidate by the demand actually behind it, and treat “it’s cheap” as a description, never
as a reason.
