jpx400 Heatmap — RS Rating × Minervini Trend Score

“I also had to get used to buying stocks hitting new highs. At first, that was very scary to do, but as I got used to it, it became very natural.”
(David Ryan)

KOLの視点KOL Take

The flinch at a new high tells me about my own habits, not about the stock. Ryan is honest that it felt frightening — and that the feeling faded with exposure, while the logic behind the entry never changed.

Core Principle

Worth noticing what Ryan does not claim. He does not say he reasoned the fear away. He says he got used to it. The discomfort was real, it persisted, and it was dissolved by repetition rather than by logic. A new high offends ordinary intuition, which says buy things while they are cheap. It is also the one condition in which nobody holding the stock is sitting on a loss, so no supply of relieved sellers waits overhead to cap an advance. The feature that makes the price look expensive and the feature that clears the path are the same feature. That is why the flinch is not evidence.

Trading Application

So separate the two questions: does this meet the criteria I wrote down, and how does it feel to click. Only the first gets a vote. To calibrate, list the entries skipped purely because the price felt too high, and revisit it a few months on. That record teaches faster than argument — exposure, not persuasion. The takeaway: discomfort at a new high is a feature of the entry, not a warning about it, and it is meant to fade with repetition.
