Wyckoff is pointing at the seam between ranges. A stock spends most of its life going sideways,
absorbing supply or building demand inside a band — and the real money is made not during that drift
but at the moment it leaves one range for another. Anticipating that shift means reading the buildup:
quieter pullbacks, volume drying up on declines, the range starting to coil. By the time the move is
obvious and everyone sees it, the easy part is gone and you’re paying up to chase. The edge is in
reading the transition while it’s still forming, not reacting once it’s already underway.

Study how a stock behaves inside its range before it breaks: watch for narrowing swings and volume
contracting on the dips, the signs that one phase is ending. Position around the developing transition
rather than waiting for the obvious, late confirmation. The takeaway: anticipate the move from one
range to the next by reading the coil, so you’re positioned for the shift instead of chasing it.
