When I catch myself hunting for one more reason to feel comfortable in a position, the hunt is
already the answer. Conviction doesn’t need assembling.
核心原則Core Principle
ワイコフのこの言葉は、いつもの言い逃れを許さないほど短い。たいていのルールには交渉の余地がある——何をもって「損切りルール違反」とするか、証拠は十分に強いか、といった議論の余地が残されている。しかし疑いには交渉の余地がない。なぜなら、証人はあなた自身だけであり、あなたはすでに答えを知っているからだ。この言葉が役立つのは、それが「入る前」と「入った後」の両方の状態をカバーしているからである。まだポジションを持つ前であれば、疑いに従うのはただである——見送ることで失うのは、取らなかった一回のトレードだけだ。しかし一度ポジションを持ってしまうと、疑いを無視することには高い代償が伴う。未解決のポジションが判断そのものを乗っ取ってしまうからだ。あなたはトレードそのものではなく、不快感をマネジメントし始め、その後のあらゆる判断が汚染されていく。ワイコフは、その疑いが正当かどうかを確かめよとは、一度も求めていない点に注目してほしい。疑いは、そこに存在しているというだけで十分なのだ。
Wyckoff’s line is short enough to resist the usual escape routes. Most rules can be negotiated with
— you can argue about what counts as a violated stop, or whether the evidence is strong enough.
Doubt cannot be argued with, because you are the only witness and you already know. What makes it
useful is that it covers both states. Before you are in, doubt is free to obey: standing aside costs
nothing but a trade you did not take. Once you are in, doubt gets expensive to ignore, because an
unresolved position takes over your judgment. You start managing the discomfort instead of the
trade, and every decision after that is contaminated. Notice Wyckoff never asks you to establish
whether the doubt is justified. Its presence is enough.

Watch for the moment you begin assembling reasons for a position you already hold — that is the
reading, not a phase to push through. Stand aside, or cut the size down until you can think about
the trade clearly again. The takeaway: you don’t have to resolve the doubt before acting on it, and
the market will still be here when clarity comes back.
