Livermore is describing a kind of obedience most of us resist. Price gives you a clean signal to exit, and instead of acting, you go hunting for confirmation — a reason, a headline, a second opinion that lets you feel justified. By the time the “brief” arrives, the easy exit is gone and the loss is bigger. The market owes you no explanation. The signal is the explanation. Waiting for a fully-argued case is just a polite way of not wanting to be wrong yet.
